GCSE Art success for Clifton Hill students

Six students in upper school studied for two years towards their GCSE Art, which they completed in Summer 2015. During the  course they explored materials including a variety of junk, different paints, silk dyes, collage from nature, clay and glazes, Modroc, dough, plaster of Paris and wire with fantasy film. The students visited galleries and learnt about famous artists and their work. They created their own artwork in the style of these artists, and they were encouraged to look at real objects in different ways and think about how these could be represented. Each student created a portfolio during the two years, and then sat 10 hours of exams where they had to be completely independent and create original pieces to a given theme.

We are very proud of their achievements – achieving passes ranging from D to F. Examples of our students’ artwork are shown below, and will shortly be on display around the school.
